Australis
Cruise is a Company that navigate through the Strait of Magellan and
Beagle Channel. The Cruise leaves Punta Arenas during summer and spring
time, sailing the Southern Patagonia: from Tierra del Fuego to Ushuaia.
The Mare Australis and Via Australis navigate through channels, bays,
fjords and glaciers, plenty of snown mountains, islands and native patagonic
forest with outstanding beauties. This is a unique opportunity to explore
one of the most beautiful and nature areas in the world.
Itinerary
- Saturday or Wednesday Punta Arenas
Check in at Australis Offices and boarding in the afternoon. The Captain
and crew give a welcome cocktail reception on board. Sailing through
the Strait of Magellan and Beagle Channel to explore one of the most
breathtaking wilderness regions in the world: Southern Patagonia, and
Tierra del Fuego.

Sunday
or Thursday Ainsworth Bay - Tucker Islet
After the navigation through Almirantazgo Sound the Cruise will arrive
near Marinelli Glacier in Ainsworth Bay. Here you will have a walk into
the Magellanic forest. You also, will have the chance of observe a colony
of elephant seals. Continue to Tucker Islet, to admire colonies of Magellanic
Penguins and Cormorants from the Zodiac boats.
- Monday or Friday Pia Glacier
Navigation through Beagle Channel until Pía Bay and the Pia Glacier.
Short hike to a lookout point with an amazing view to the entire glacier
tongue of Pia Glacier. Continue sailing until Alley Glacier.
- Tuesday or Saturday Cape Horn
During the morning the navigation continue through Beagle and Murray
Channels to reach and disembark Cape Horn or Cabo de Hornos National
Park. This mythical place is known as the "End of the Earth".
The park was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. Later, in
the afternoon, visit the Wulaia Bay, that used to be a settlement of
aborigens.
- Wednesday or Sunday Ushuaia
In the morning, arrive at Ushuaia, the most important city on Tierra
del Fuego. The disembark begin at 08:00.
